The Power Of Retreats

Self-Care February Day 8: Going on a spiritual retreat can set you on the right path

In November 2019 I flew to Austin, Texas for my first overseas trip away from my family for 17 years. I won’t lie – I was incredibly nervous about going. Only something genuinely important would have been enough to make me go to a whole different continent, too far to help if any emergency came up.

That something was my first spiritual retreat.

I wrote about it at the time, so I won’t repeat myself here, but looking back at that retreat, I’m still seeing the benefits from that little trip away. Some of those connections fell away; some became stronger. The messages that I got shaped my attitude then and I find it amusing that my final Oracle card of the retreat was Dancer and now I facilitate chakra dance meditation!

So if you’ve been wondering whether my Journey Into The Chakras retreat is for you, here are some of the many benefits of going on a spiritual retreat:

1. You want to learn more about yourself

I consider myself to be more self-aware than most, but I’m constantly discovering new things about myself. One of the biggest lessons I’ve taken from my spiritual journey is that our potential is limitless. Whatever you can conceive, you can achieve it – if you take action towards making that dream a reality. A retreat can help you discover your strengths and weaknesses and figure out the best way of working with them.

2. You want to learn more about a particular tradition or practice

On our Journey Into The Chakras, we’ll dive deep into the nature of the chakras and how they impact on your physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. You’ll discover more about these powerful energy centres and how you can work with them to enhance your life on every level.

3. You need support with a major decision

If you’re facing a tough choice, a spiritual retreat is the ideal way to gain perspective. Stepping away from your day-to-day concerns to focus on the inner work can help you get the mental reset you need to figure out the best way forward. Even if the retreat isn’t tailored towards addressing your specific problem, the simple act of taking a break can give you that breakthrough you need.

4. You need some time out

Maybe you’ve been under a lot of pressure, or you’ve been working non-stop. Maintaining this kind of fast pace puts you on the road to burnout. A spiritual retreat gives you time to relax, unwind and reflect on where you really want to be in life.

5. You need help with your health

Now while I absolutely do not promise to cure anything, meditation has been scientifically proven to help with a broad range of ailments, including respiratory problems, anxiety, high blood pressure, heart problems, and more. As we journey through the chakras, we’ll be working through a wide range of meditative practices, teaching you techniques you can take away and use moving forward. And, of course, you can always join in with the weekly chakra dance meditation classes.

6. You want to have fun with like-minded people

Ultimately, a spiritual retreat is one of the best experiences you’ll have. When I came back from America, I was on a high for a month because I’d had such an amazing time. You’ll meet people with a similar approach to life to you and the chances are high you’ll make new connections which will last long after the retreat is over.

If that sounds like the kind of experience you want to have, book your place at the Journey Into The Chakras today!
