Using Meditation To Boost Your Creativity

January Meditation Challenge Day 17: Guided Meditation For Creativity

As an author, musician and songwriter, I live and breathe creativity. I’m constantly coming up with new ideas and innovations. It’s one of my biggest strengths – the ability to come up with multiple concepts at a moment’s notice.

But there are times when things don’t flow. For example, I recently wrote a song with a ridiculously catchy chorus. Every time I tried to write another song, this chorus would keep coming back into my head: Take a little step, just one little step then one more…

I didn’t seem to be able to break through. So instead, I grabbed my trusty sunstone and put on a guided meditation for creativity. When it was done, my existing song was gone and ideas flowed. I was able to write a completely new song, one which I loved as much as the catchy little ditty which kept distracting me.

So if you’re struggling with a problem, you need to be more creative, or there’s something else you want to encourage in your life, try meditating on it. You’ll be surprised at the difference it makes.
